Volunteers & Parents

The success of the Zebbies is built on a proud history of volunteer involvement. This year is no different and there are still multiple volunteer positions to fill. Roles are still open on the Committee, Coaching, Team Manager, and Canteen Management. No matter if you have been at the club for many years or just new this season, the more our community gets involved, the better the experience for the kids will be!

They say it takes a village to raise a kid and running a football club with 350 kids is no different. The Zebbies expectation is that all parents and carers are registered as volunteers on PlayHQ and are able to fill match day volunteer roles when required (goal umpire, umpires escort, time keeper etc.).

Match Day Roles

Goal & Boundary Umpiring

For most games it is a requirement for each team to supply a boundary and goal umpire. Bring your runners, or don the warm butcher jacket, and get close to the on-field action.

Runner / Medic

Many sides do not have a permanent runner or medic. The club organises many First Aid courses that are free for parents to attend to become certified. Register your interest with your TM.

Scorer / Umpire Escort / Canteen

Each team must provide a time keeper/scorer and an umpires escort. For home games, there is also the requirement that each team provides two canteen assistants during the match.

On-field roles

Be part of the action

For U8 to U10 games each club teams supply an on-field volunteer umpire. This requires the volunteer umpire to attend a short course or complete an online course. It's desired that each team has at least three parents registered as volunteer umpires to rotate each week.

Off-field

Get involved off-field

No football experience, no worries. There are plenty of roles off-field to support the team.

Register today

Volunteer registration is simple and only takes a couple of minutes. Being a Junior club there is the need to also hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
